My wife informed me that we required a week getaway, and gave me the requirements that it had to be beach front, relaxing, and good for our 3 year old daughter. This condo hit every point, and even more. From the moment we arrived, my wife cried with joy. The condo is immaculate, and updated. The location is perfect, being that it's close enough to walk the mile to the boardwalk, but far enough away where you don't feel crowded. We would wake up, and open the sliding door to hear the ocean crashing in front of us. Our daughter loved the private access to the beach, as well as the pool below. It also came loaded with movies to watch, games to play, and beach gear and toys. When it comes time for our next week getaway, we definitely will be checking the calendar on this lovely location!! We recently stayed at this beautiful condo on Carolina Beach. Everything was new and beautiful and Adele and JR were responsive, and it was very easy to book and reserve. It's wonderful to have both a ocean side deck and a small deck on the street/bay side of the house. If it's too cool breezy on the ocean side, move to the back where there is usually no wind. See the sunrise on the front side, sun set on the back deck. Carolina beach is a great area, close to Wilmington, but we found several great restaurants within 1 mile of the condo. Also, enjoyed great long walks on the endless beach and took our 4 wheel drive rental to Freeman park about 1/4 mile from the condo, where for $20 permit you can drive through fluffy deep sand(keep your speed up or you will get stuck and you must have 4 wheel drive) and park on the beach for the day. Great fun!

Eine Unterkunft der Spitzenklasse! Alles stimmt! Nicht wird vermisst. Eine sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Fewo . Die Betten sind bequem, sauber, ordentlich. Von der Terrasse aus kann man den Sonnenaufgang beobachten, oder die Delphine, sogar an ein Fernglas wurde gedacht. Der Strand ist unmittelbar über den Steg zu erreichen. Der Echtholzfußboden verleiht der Wohnung ein edles Ambiente. An alles wurde gedacht, Spielsachen für große und kleine Kinder ,alles für den Strand, Bücher, CD und DVD Player, Videorecorder mit Filmen für etliche Wochen. Für den Sommer ist der großzügig bemessene Pool direkt vor Haustür. Die Vermieter haben für jeden Extrawunsch ein offenes Ohr und machen auch unmögliches möglich. Alles in allem ein Urlaub an den man gerne zurück denkt und nur darauf wartet wieder zurückkommen zu dürfen.

From the terrace you can watch the sunrise, or watch the dolphins with even a pair of binoculars. The beach is directly accessible from the property. The real wood flooring gives the apartment a refined setting. Everything has been thought, toys for kids of all ages, all for the beach, books, CD and DVD player, VCR with movies for several weeks. In the summer a great pool is right outside your door step.The landlords have been great in taking any special order and make the impossible possible. I have to admit when we pulled up to the building I was a little worried. It looked a little rundown and in need of a facelift. Next we discovered the unit was three floors up...not a big deal for us but important to know if stairs are an issue for you.
Thankfully, when we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised...and our view from the deck made the trek up the stairs worth it. The condo has had a great update...modern kitchen and bathrooms and beautiful wood floors. We especially loved how well stocked the place is...games, movies, books, beach chairs and toys. I always appreciate these extra touches. And I also appreciate a well-stocked kitchen...this one had everything we needed.
The queen beds slept great, but the king in the master wasn't so comfortable. Other lthoughts...deck seating in addition to the lounge chairs would be nice (though the bench around the deck does serve some purpose) and the couch - though nicely slipcovered - has seen better days.
On our departure day, we were rushed out by the housekeeper an hour early. I thought maybe I had misunderstood the checkout time but turns out I hadn't. Adele called and kindly apologized.
Overall, we were very happy with our experience. Adele and JR have done a fantastic job with the condo's decor and it has an amazing view with easy access to the beach. We would most certainly return.
Owner's Response: Thank you for the review! We always appreciate feedback from our guests. The salt spray and ocean winds do prematurely weather oceanfront buildings. The building's exterior are currently being repaired and freshly painted before the summer. We are personally making improvements to our home; for example, spring cleaning, painting the decks and restocking some of the extra comforts of home before the summer peak season.
After your stay, we made some amazing upgrades to the condo. We purchased new leather sofas for the living room! We are also replacing the furniture in the master bedroom with a brand new set. They are all being delivered this week. We will update the Homeaway site with pictures as soon as possible. Each year, my husband and I renovate the condo as much as we can to make it more luxurious and hospitable for our guests. We are committed to making our condo an outstanding place to stay. We hope that you do return to stay with us and we will make your stay with us worthy of a five star rating.

This modern style condo was a refreshing place to stay right on the beach! The views were amazing off the balcony and the decor was comfortable and very tastefully done. From the balcony, we really enjoyed the sunrise while watching the dolphins play in the wake of the many passing by fishing boats. The moon and stars were also bright and radiated amazingly off the ocean for us each night. You will not find a better place to spend a week or a weekend. We will be back for sure.

The amazing view is one of our favorite parts about the condo. We also love the beautiful beach environment of Carolina Beach. My family and I really want to witness sea turtles hatching from their nest. We love looking for "ghost" crabs with flashlights on the beach.
At night, we often sit outside on the balcony and look at the stars. It is so peaceful and the stargazing is great. A telescope is on the top of the list of things we would like to buy for the condo. We are constantly thinking of ways to improve the condo so your stay will be extra special and memorable. Thanks so much for taking your time to tell us what you enjoyed.
Please come and stay with us again. The are so many fun things to do at Carolina Beach and in the Wilmington area. The Azalea Festival is super fun, and it has one of the longest parades ever. If you haven't tried Britt's Donuts, it is something you shouldn't miss! We love the fresh seafood you can get in the area. There are so many great restaurants.

I cannot express enough what a relaxing vacation we had at this wonderful condo. This statement is being made even though we had to leave a day early due to Hurricane Irene. Not only was the property immaculate, but every little minor detail was taken care of (no need to bring shampoo, soap, or conditioner!). I even noticed some general staples in the cupboards (tea, sugar, etc.). This made for a very easy transition from suitcase to enjoying the beach. My kids LOVED the pool. It is so clean and most of the time we had the entire pool to ourselves. When there were others present everyone was very friendly and easy to get along with. Adele even had toys available for my kids to play with. And don't worry if you have a rainy day at the beach - there are TONS of up-to-date dvds, books, and games to pick from and enjoy! Thanks for making our vacation memorable. My husband said he hadn't had such a relaxing vacation in a very long time.

We just did some post-summer cleaning and maintenance on the condo this week. New hurricane boards were manufactured and installed next to both the front and back sliding glass doors. Now the next hurricane preparations can be accomplished within minutes vs. hours.
Also, the front sun deck railings were redone to make it more child friendly and freshly painted for the enjoyment of our visitors. The whole place was thoroughly cleaned to "Carolina Comfort" standards and re-stocked some linens and general staples for incoming guests. We keep in mind what our family would like to have for vacations at the Carolina Beach, and try our best to provide those items for your first day at the condo. Our guests have been great in keeping a pay it forward attitude for the next visitors. So, pack light and get ready to enjoy some fun at the beach!

This was the first time we rented a condo. I was very picky! I have to say that this unit is absolutely PERFECT. I am a clean freak and this unit is SO clean. Everything is new. It is precious. The deck is amazing and it feels so private. I was so mad that I totally overpacked. My kiddos, 15 and 10 had a great time. They loved the board games. My son brought his Wii for the small time he was not playing in the ocean. This is such a great place. I have friends who were in town and had them stop by to see the condo. They were totally impressed. The owner is very sweet. I highly recommend Carolina Comfort.Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

All the personal touches - shampoo, paper towels, tissues, extra lotion, coffee filters - I even noticed you had a drawer full of extra t-shirts! So thoughtful!
